2004 CR A 016783 CITY OF COLUMBUS vs. FOUSE JR

Dear Judge David E. Cain,

Hello there! This is Leda M*** and I was a victim in a case you heard 08-19-2005 where you sentenced Vincent Fouse to a year in jail with “possible” judicial release and $55,000 in restitution.

I am writing you now to thank you for giving me some justice in what happened to me and to strongly urge No Early Release for Vincent Fouse. The original charges were Attempted Murder, Felonious Assault, and Abduction, which was pled down, down, and down again to only an F2 in what I would consider “Attempted Murder” and a hate crime. All my attempts to pursue this in a jury trial were denied. I was told I did not have a choice given Vincent’s witnesses (of course his friends).

As I mentioned in court, He’s had two assaults since the outcome of my case where he allegedly beat up his girlfriend. Vincent had a different girl at my house two different times while his fiancé was pregnant having drinks and “scoping out” what to steal.

I know you are busy so I will make this as short as possible and with less anger as I was displaying in the courtroom the day of sentencing. It was over a year of built-up tensions being released in a moment. It was difficult to hold back…

Vincent used my friendship to scam his way in and rip me off! Twice in two nights at a cost of $4,500 and some change to Allstate and then two $250 deductibles that I had to pay. It was not proven that he done this. His best friend (Dion) told me he had done this and told me details only the thief could have known that he said Vincent told him!

I was at Dion’s home on Frank Rd. when Vincent pulled in and the first thing I said was “call the police”. They did call them and he left before they got there. He waited for me to go home and then attacked me in my driveway when I tried to write his license plate number down. I almost died!

A few weeks earlier before all this took place Vincent had shown me a pair of brass knuckles he carries around which is what I believe the shinny object was that I remember hitting me before waking up in an ambulance. I was unconscious and he still beat me.

It has taken me a year to piece together what exactly happened after the beating I took and by no means does a year even justify the mental and physical trauma I went through and still going through. All the miscellaneous bills, with all my hospital bills, far exceed $55,000… I think he got off cheap!

For the rest of my life I will have nerve damage and now my septum is shaped like a hook which nobody will fix “in payments”. I have to live with this unless I can come up with $4,700 to have it fixed. And having terrible sinuses to start with multiplies the problem.

1. Comminuted bilateral nasal bone fractures.
2. Comminuted nasal septum fracture.
3. Comminuted bilateral maxillary sinus wall fractures associated
with extensive hematoma and soft tissue emphysema.
4. Left zygomatic arch comminuted fracture.
5. Fracture of the left orbital ring.
6. Bilateral maxilla fractures near the hard palate.

I did a little research and noticed you are married with three children. Imagine seeing one of your children coming out of surgery swollen so badly the eyes were not even visible. I could not see my parents after surgery but I heard them and felt them holding me. It was devastating!

I noticed how Vincent wore a suit 3 times too big for him and they tried for sympathy with his illness. I am glad you seen through this ploy. He is like a mini Mike Tyson and do not let them fool you. He is a snake in the grass, thief, and will step on anyone to get what he wants; I was too friendly and found this out the hard way. Only he got caught “THIS TIME”.

Please do not consider his early release. I do plan on being there at that hearing to strongly voice my objection.

Sincerely,

Leda
